KGTV - The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is warning stanley cup La Mesa residents of mail theft that occurred last week.The theft took place Jan. 24 at the USPS Carrier Annex on Lake Murray Boulevard. Resi stanley cup dents, many in the eastern portion of the city, reported they did not get mail on Friday. Over the weekend, many got a letter from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service informing them that they may be a victim of mail theft. The letter encouraged them to alert the USPS if they believe they are a victim, and also to alert the three credit reporting agencies if they are concerned about identity theft. David Franks, whose credit card was stolen, says a worker at the annex told him that mail is left outside to make it easier for carri stanley mugs ers to pick up their deliveries and get on the road. But according to Franks, the worker said someone drove up in a rental car and stole mail in bulk. I was surprised. I was disappointed that it was so easy for somebody just to drive in and take the mail, he said. Ricky Vida, an inspector for the postal inspection service, said he could not release details about an active investigation.
