The annual Las Vegas Veterans Day Parade returns to Do stanley italia wntown Las Vegas on Friday to thank all of those who have served in the military.The holiday is celebrated on Nov. 11 to coincide with the anniversary of the end of World War I, which was more than a century ago. In 1919, the holiday began after President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation naming the hol stanley cup iday Armistice Day, which would later change to Veteran s Day in 1954.Though the holidays are often confused, Veteran s Day is separate from Memorial Day, which honors those who have died serving in the military.This year s parade is expected to be bigger and better than in past years. The House of Representatives approved a bipartisan bill on T stanley cup uesday that would increase social security benefits for millions of public service workers.The chamber approved House Resolution 82, the Social Security Fairness Act, by a 327-76 margin, with 191 Democrats and 136 Republicans voting in favor.
